My only Maranello red thing

There are things that I can’t explain up to now.
I love cars in general and that is a popular fact.
Of course my real love affair is VW das auto,
then Porsche is my endearing mistress of sorts.
But I have an eye for other interesting cars too,
even have Mustangs, Corvettes in my collection.

What I don’t understand is… why no Ferrari?
Having a couple of Lamborghini models
since this Italian brand is part of VW…
isn’t it natural to like the OTHER Italian car?
Still were is the Ferrari urge, that most
collectors are afflicted? I don’t know!

Anyway, there is a first for everything.
Mr. Charles gave me this red hot ballpen,
knowing that I’m a writing pen collector.
Well now, it’s a ….Maranello red pen!
Will this be a start of my liking of the red one?
Your guess is as good as mine!

Brought-in, from the Vegas strip.
It’s 100% genuine like the Sin in that city.

Darn, it sure is red as the OTHER Italian car!

The horse with no name? HiHo- Silver?

I know Ferraristas like these letters. Don’t you?

Did I mentioned...I like this pen a lot?
I do, any received gifts are ultimately collectible!

Awesome Vintage Redlines

You know how us Porschephiles tick?
Palms sweating whenever Stuttgart finest are held!
And, yes I got sweaty and ecstatic holding them.
I mean, the small scale ones.
I’m still working on a dream 1:1…
…someday it will come.

Of the 1/64 kind, the vintage Redlines are up there,
on THE covetous list.
These HotWheels Porsche 917’s are smooth rollers!
Alas, I can say for sure they are!
I’ve glided them on my table and they are speedy hot.
Appreciate these awesome redlines from Chad Castle.
These made the start of the collecting year a blast!

Self Gifts

Holy grail series

Whoever said,
“ If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself”,
must be a collector!

This is what happened last season.
I know I’ll be receiving diecast from friends,
(which I did by the way)….
but at the same time,
wishing I’ll be having ones that’ll blow me away!

Taking matters into my own hands….
Got myself into serious self-giving.
Splurging into Holy grails, not only 1 but 2 for the season!
Thereby making these into,

My Christmas’ self gift.
Lone Star Flyers VW Microbus

My New Year’s self gift.
Sakura Porsche RSR

Come to think of it,
this is a start of something good!

VW = Very Wet...D Day

The chicken eggs offering for a sunny day,
didn't work! It was another wet VW GTG.
Partly because of the drizzle...
.......and partly a result of us drooling
profusely with these tasty Pinas Vdubs!

The main course of delight is this Brasilia,
indeed a Brazilian taut, tan and lovely beauty!

I adore this off-the-factory-floor looking US version 1303.

Sakbayan always makes me feel proud to be Pinoy.

All 21 windows of amazing sight.

Got the "crisp look" nailed with this Variant Type3

Cal-look Pinas Style is one Sano Bug.

La Raza Bug, borloloy made tasty!
A completely restored correct '67 VW 1500

These wild Things make the heart sing!

I want these VW T2 Campers, the coolest “Kulambo” on wheels

I'm a '70s VW fan, and this Notch & 1302S fit the bill.

Got the family joining me again and this year my brother (3rd photo) led the drooling, EEENjoy!

70’s Curved Groove

Times are swinging during the 70’s era.
Changes are on the groovy side.
Pants are flared, hair is curled!
Collars excessive, shoes are massive.

VW’s changing too on this wave.
Suddenly the aircooled Type1 & 2,
got the excessive curves.
Bodies are on the curve plum bulge.
Noticeable are the delightful,
curved windshield. Smashing!

Voluptuously groovy shapes aren’t they?

Caddy Custom Service

I was looking forward to the MB VW Caddy in blue
to be available locally and apply a Matchbox logo
on its sides, much like the MB VW van regular wheel.
Up to now it isn’t offered in our pegs…. too SLOW.
Talk about late distribution.

Glad, I got this one from Don, a few days ago, and
an idea formed for a lazy custom. Our VW friend is
a cool Notchback owner….
So I decided instead on putting a VW Notchback (Type3)
custom drawing I’ve done specifically for this Caddy.
A sort of advert for a shop I’ve dreamt of having.
The Caddy is a service vehicle for ….
“Komenda Custom Coachwork” shop doing
cabrio customs for VW Type3.

Here it is..

Shapely Fenders

Lazy Customs Series

In Motor Racing there exist liveries that are competitively attractive.
I consider them as Motorsports’ Livery Legends.
Such is the case of Jagermeister orange-clad racing machines.
It’s the same for Gulf Racing cars, a formula of great style and race success.
This holds true with the immense winning brew of Martini Racing.
A striking amalgamation of red, blues and white, surely to keep
the desire level factor shooting up. To top it off, these Martini machines
are collectively a victorious force in competition.

Such is the appeal of these liveries that I’m drawn to make custom diecast
wrapped in these renowned racing colors.
On the Martini front, I’m deeply attracted to the tri-colored stripes running
along the fender curves of the celebrated 70’s Porsche 934 RSR.
Darn, those are really amazingly attractive curves.
I’ve wanted to replicate them on a custom VW having similarly
shapely fenders.
Lo and behold Hotwheels provided a canvass for it to be applied.

Presenting the, Martini Racing VW GTI 5

Traditional sponsors were included; Shell, Bilstein, Bosch

New ones were introduced as well, Heuer, Yokohama…

and of course, Komenda Volkswagen!
